BRAND STORY: THINKER LINKERS BY MURRAH WOODCRAFT
Thinker Linkers is a system of interlocking wooden building pieces based on a classic design from the 1950s. The pieces are digitally fabricated and modular so that additional pieces can be joined together and fit any existing pieces.
Founder Thomas Murrah has a passion for building toys that help kids learn and grow. From his workshop in Durham, North Carolina, he creates Thinker Linkers which end up in toy boxes and museum exhibits all over the country. He asked us to redesign the Thinker Linkers logo and website in order to showcase the wooden building toys and to position the brand for growth.

We began by redesigning the Thinker Linkers logo into the clean and kid-friendly version seen below.
We used a font similar to the old one in order to make sense with the Thinker Linkers name on the wooden toys where the old logotype is still featured.
The graphic part of the logo was inspired by one of the Thinker Linkers building pieces called the small half circle. We added playful curved stripes in colors that look enticing to kids yet still work well in a sophisticated color palette which appeals to parents and museum administrators.
The old Thinker Linkers website was rudimentary and hadn't been updated in a number of years. Thomas Murrah said he was almost embarrassed to direct people to it when they asked him if they could purchase Thinker Linkers online, which certainly wasn't good for business.
With very little direction, we took Thinker Linkers from the archaic site they had to the stunning and functional beauty you see below. Thomas told us what he wanted to accomplish, and we used our creative judgment to make it happen.
We can't wait to see how many more happy kids will be introduced to Thinker Linkers now that there is a modern, clean, and engaging site to visit.
